WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE??

Blasts, firing, terrorist attacks!
Put on the T.V., …Check the details! Where, when, how?
Call your loved ones. Are they safe? Ask them to get home fast or stay over at a safe place till things cool down a bit! Telephone, mobile lines jammed!
News channels on continuously for quite some time.. Until every bit of information is obtained, digested, relayed to others… facts,  figures… how many hurt, how many dead…!

Sad stories, miraculous escapes, unfortunate beings caught in it.
How  some missed, how some didn’t.  ….sad…  which hospitals?/ Any one needs blood??
Next day… news channels ..shots of  ground zero.. Mumbai’s spirit, Mumbai’s resilience.. yuck!  Don’t want to hear that one more time! Want to earn my bread.. so have to get back to work.. no other option! L
Following evenings… debates  on who failed? Government updates, police updates, Cctv cameras, footage, failure of intelligence, no intelligence, we are working on the leads… home minister !?
Yet more stories, footage of funeral of victims, devastated families….crying their heart out,
Many more debates, enough is enough, déjà vu, Prime Minister, Chief minister visits to ground zero. Outrage pouring from all sides....on T.V., in the streets, in trains… We should do something..  our government has to give answers.
Cctv cameras not procured, tenders, lowest quotations, red tape hindrance.
Debates on what we need to do the most to avoid such attacks. Is it becoming routine.. Not many bothered about the chilling reality.. Have they  gone numb? They go about their daily work. Solutions suggested.. become more alert, look around before sitting in a bus, cab, train, look around while you walk on the streets, put more cctvs. Make the youth aware.. train them to deal with such emergencies. Is it because we assume that these attacks wont stop, are we being asked to shrug our shoulders AND carry on. Should we?
THEN..... in the following weeks… focus of attention .. which movies released? India’s tour of England, Sachin’s 100th 100, will he won’t he, million dollar question!
This week twin attacks again,  87 dead, terrorist firing on innocents.. where? Oh ….its Norway. NORWAY..  :O….. the land of midnight sun….. shaken by a terrorist attack? Same story.. same discussions, the terrorist need to be taught a lesson.
Catch them… sentence them.. put them behind bars.. hang them…. Will it solve the issue.. instead another crop of terrorists will spring up from their graves…..same hatred.. same cold bloodedness in their eyes …same fanaticism..  the circle goes on.
You pick a few, they leave an entire generation behind with the passion in their heads to take on the enemy.
How  and where will it stop?? We have to get to the ROOT OF THE HATRED. …dig out hatred from hearts, check our pasts, check our actions too. Force definitely cannot be the answer for anything… it increases hatred, it sows the seeds of hatred thus making way for another crop of fanatics, terrorists…. making ground for another round of attacks, exposing and leaving innocent citizens  to bear the brunt of the actions of misled zealots.
Is it really the ANSWER.? IS IT HOW WE MUST FACE TERRORISM? IS IT HOW WE MUST DEAL WITH TERRORISM?  Is there not any possibility of the language of love being of any use to deal with the situation????

Random thoughts during Lockdown 2020

Its more than a week since Lock-down 02.  People are finding ways to occupy their mind during the free time they have. Mind you, it seems easier said than done. The artistically inclined are shedding their inhibition and coming up with genuine art.   Some are watching their long list of movies - to watch, which they had prepared long back and promised to enjoy the same on weekends. Some are indulging in creating short cut recipes. Some are involving themselves with their kids’ various activities, be it their online studies, art, writing, painting, playing games, watching movies together etc. Some are reading books long left half read. Some are meditating. Some are into soul-searching. Some are still trying to come to terms with the Lock-down. The list of activities is long and never–ending.
