Creativity lost!

It hurts a lot!!!.... Why is God calling all the beautiful, talented people like the late Jagjit Singhji, Bhupen Hazarikaji etc back to him in such a rush! We need them and their creativity even more nowwww amidst this ever increasing senselessness that is spreading in every field in this world! People are running after money, forgetting and sometimes not even bothering to cool their souls with the milk of talent made available to them by the likes of Bhupenji and Jagjitji! To them, the jingle of money is sweeter than the sound of music of the heart!

When the road ahead is not to be seen, Keep asking questions. For in the questions will you find,   the answers to the directions!

A matter of Perception!

The way you think can change your PERCEPTION of life! The rosy colors of the sky and the red orange tint of the sun; Can seem like the picture of the sun at dawn, When it could well have been, The scene of the setting sun, at dusk time!

WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE??

Blasts, firing, terrorist attacks! Put on the T.V., …Check the details! Where, when, how? Call your loved ones. Are they safe? Ask them to get home fast or stay over at a safe place till things cool down a bit! Telephone, mobile lines jammed! News channels on continuously for quite some time.. Until every bit of information is obtained, digested, relayed to others… facts,   figures… how many hurt, how many dead…! Sad stories, miraculous escapes, unfortunate beings caught in it. How   some missed, how some didn’t.   ….sad…   which hospitals?/ Any one needs blood?? Next day… news channels ..shots of   ground zero.. Mumbai’s spirit, Mumbai’s resilience.. yuck!   Don’t want to hear that one more time! Want to earn my bread.. so have to get back to work.. no other option! L Following evenings… debates   on who failed? Government updates, police updates, Cctv cameras, footage, failure of intelligence, no intelligence, we are working on the leads… home minister !? Yet more stories, foot

The mound of clay

The mound of clay is in place, with the right amount of water base. Before the knead   is in progress, free it   of the tufts of grasses, for   you need an unsoiled lot, from old mother ground. Before   the mound is laid on the wheel, and   the wheel is set in motion, one needs to picture the pot, that will take shape from the mound. So take time out and build an image in the depths of your mind, of the final creation, its shape, colours and design. Then hold the mound with soft hands, and as the wheel gathers motion, with its centre of gravity and all, the image in your mind, will transfer onto the clay ball!

The weather in my heart!

Image
Some times when you have a few moments to yourself, and you have the good sense of reflecting upon your actions and reactions, of the times that went by, one realises that everything around you seems happy and beautiful when your mood is such and when you tend to be in a gloomy frame of mind, the mind is inclined to noticing all the wretchedness in the world around you, thus missing all the elements of goodness around you. Of course, one can’t help it, as its human nature to behave thus. But if only, we all, by choice, always try to be cheerful in the mind, no matter what the situation is, we would be spared of so much pain that we inflict upon ourselves as a result of concentrating only on the unpleasantness in life. Hence,  I PRAY TO GOD TO.... Let the weather in my heart be always, cool and pleasant, no matter what, So that it forever finds the weather outside, warm and beautiful, no matter what!   J

The toughest!

Its said that when the going gets tough, the tough get going! I would like to add further to it that the toughest are those who don't get complacent in easier times.

Me and my schoolmates

Me and my schoolmates!   A decade of togetherness, then the flock dispersed, in directions… north, south, east n west. A decade another passed by, As some settled in life for good, Some chose to be alone n aloof. I too wondered about all the lot, where they went and what they sought. It was but a feeling so sacred, To feel part of the flock that was. Then came the magic wand, of a site on the net… called facebook. It returned me, to the good old days I spent, in a tiny world called ‘SCHOOL’ And here I met my schoolmates, oh so many! It brought me close to myself more than others, because I found this stream of innocence, within the depths of my conscience. The stream, it lay there all these years, deep below the layers of indifference and worldliness that became part of me as I made my way ahead in life. These blessed souls that were once upon a time, thrown together in a world called school, they all shared a common wrap, of times spend together while g

The journey unknown!

The sky in my mind is so broad n wide, the dreams come to me in a tide. The colors have hues oh so many bright, yet why do they appear sometimes black... sometimes white? The sail of my ship, though of rough cloth it is, will take me around the storms and beyond the waves, I believe! The space, my space I look for around, to lay my anchor and rest on the ground. Will the ports just keep coming by and will the merchants keep asking for? The sun has travelled past the noon, dusk is appearing with the moon. Hope to spot the northern star which will set my ship on the right path!

The Silken Thread

The silken thread A strand of my silken wrap just snapped Leaving a gap in it, a gap never to be repaired. The gap will always remind me of those warm days Of my childhood, of people who made it special. My grandpa, my grandma, their love, Was the delicate embroidery of my silken wrap! Often death reminds you of the times wrapped around persons Rather than the persons themselves. You then realise the strength of the silk thread n the weave of the silken cloth, The presence of the thread looks insignificant, Until it snaps and slips into nothingness. You then realize how important the remaining threads are. And so the warmth of my silken wrap becomes all the more welcoming!
